A unique and inspiring Thumbook® by Janine Martel!
Before heading to South Africa, Janine Martel was trying to think of a way to remember the people she would encounter along the way. The idea for Thumbook® came to her in a flash! It's a creative and totally transportable way to make lasting memories and certainly one we wish we'd had along our various intercontinental adventures over the years.
Here's a few fun little questions we asked Janine so we could learn a little more about her, her shop, and what exactly a Thumbook® is used for:
1. Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from? What's the name of your shop?
I'm an artist & entrepreneur from New York City,
Thumbook®
2. What is a Thumbook®?
A Thumbook® journal is a teeny tiny book for a collection of thumbprint drawings & signatures.
On one page, a person puts their thumbprint
and then makes it into a self portrait or a drawing. On the opposite page, they
write their favorite quote or philosophy that they have in life.
3. Do you have any advice for others that are looking to make
a business out of selling their work?
Leap & the net will appear!
4. What's your favorite ice cream flavor?
Banana! My favorite is banana marshmallow
sundae from Eddie's sweet shop in Queens
If you're going on a trip soon or just simply want to remember the unique people you meet on a daily basis, then a Thumbook® would be the perfect thing to add to your holiday wish list or it would also make a great stocking stuffer for a friend.
Congratulations to Sara and many thanks to Janine Martel for her generous donation. Be sure to check out her website for more information about her shop and how you can get your very own Thumbook®.

How fun!! I had a client once that made a book out of drawings he made from coffee stains on napkins and this totally reminds me of that - but is cuter! :)
